Trae Lewis is a lifelong environmental advocate and a graduate of Howard University with a degree in Political Science. After several years as a technical writer, Trae transitioned from the failing UX industry to teach English in Houston, Texas. His debut novel, Martha, is a powerful reflection on the current state of our natural world and a call to the federal government’s inaction on species protection and land conservation. Through the lens of Jackson Moreno, a new sales rep for the privatized Sam Houston National Park, Martha explores the commercialization of nature, the ethics of hunting, and the human appetite for consumption and entertainment.
